The goal of this event is to raise funds to build Geovadny Homes in Guatemala for impoverished kids. These homes are not orphanages. They are homes to service between 6-8 children. In these homes, children who have been abandoned, abused, and or rejected will have a safe place in which to live. They will receive the social, emotional, spiritual, and intellectual supports they will need as they grow and reenter their society. In contrast to an orphanage, Geovadny homes are small intimate homes allowing the house parent to better meet the individual needs of their residents.

When: Friday, April 29, 2011  /  6 to 10 pm
Where: Cafe Verde 275 Essex Street, Lawrence

Join LWBI in beautiful Guatemala!

Join LWBI in Guatemala for an unforgettable experience June 17, 2011 – August 18, 2011. During the summer months of 2011, we will once again return to Zacapa, Guatemala with a team of volunteers to continue our ongoing projects at the Regional Hospital of Zacapa and Loma del Viento.  Applications for participation in next year’s project are now being accepted. Visit our charity projects section; learn more about our projects and how you can become a part of this amazing experience.

Feed the Hungry Project 2011

LWBI has a goal of feeding over 300 mouths during our trip in the summer of 2011.  Read about our amazing experience last summer and how you can join our efforts for next summer.  With a donation of $2.50 you can provide 1 ½ meals each day per person, this includes a hot meal and a snack. Every penny donated in response to our Feed the Hungry Project 2011 will be used.

Geovadny House Project

What do you do when you see a child who is on the street the moment you leave your home early in the morning and remain there when you arrive home late at night?  Do you stop to ask them who they are or why they are on the streets and not in school? You will find that in many cases, that child has minimal to no education and eats the leftovers found on a table, food that have been handed to them or found in a garbage can.  You might also find that these children spend the day selling everything from flowers, sweets to jewelry. What do you do?

As you read more about the Geovadney House Project, we hope you will partner with LWBI to help our little friends around the world.

A Time for Service - Guatemala 7/06/10 – 7/30/10

LWBI Ministry and Wellness travel to Zacapa, Guatemala for two weeks of service.  While there, participants will spend time at the Regional Hospital, beautifying the hospital’s landscape.  Participants will spend the latter part of their day offering Vacation Bible School to children in the Aldea of Zacapa.

Cruise Crusade 6/27/10 – 7/04/10

LWBI Ministries presents our first bi-annual Cruise Crusade.  Aboard the Carnival Valor, participants from MA, IL, Georgia, and Florida join LWBI for a fun filled week at sea.  Once aboard, participants will have fun in the sun enjoying the myriad of activities offered by Carnival.  They will also participate in retreats coordinated by LWBI to include financial planning, Health and Wellness, Couples Retreat, and Youth Leadership Retreat.
